About
Surviving My Story is a website dedicated to creating a safe community to discuss hard situations that we are going through or have been through in order to provide support, connection, and community for others.
Several years ago, I discovered my spouse had a secret life wrought with compulsive sexual behavior. I felt intense anger and shame and most of all, I felt alone. Who could possibly understand what I was going through? I was so afraid of the judgement I knew I would receive from these straight-laced, church going community that I was around, so I kept it to myself as long as I could, but eventually, I couldn’t take the pressure anymore.
Once I found the bravery to start telling my story, I was surprised to find this underground connection with other women who had similar experiences and who were walking the same path. If it had not been for the encouragement and validation from these women, I would not be where I am today.
This website was birthed out of the depth of appreciate for the community that walked me through the darkest time in my life and the desire to create community to help others through their dark times.
Pain is pain. We all struggle. This is a place for those courageous women who are ready to stop avoiding the discomfort and move through their pain to reach new heights of growth and freedom in the next chapter of their lives. I invite you to look around. My hope is that you will find some great resources and a community where your pain is welcome and your healing is inevitable.
My hope is that this is not only a place that you come to in order to get some information and hear some stories, but that you would share your own story, as we continue to help pass on healing hands from one to another.
I’m so glad you’re here!
